有傳，現場保安誤以為該男子是粉絲，所以沒有在第一時間給予保護。直到任達華被捅至受傷，一群保安才衝上去制服該男子。

任達華受傷後，手按著腹部走下台。據港媒報道，理智清醒的任達華上車後，第一時間拍下自己的傷勢，放上群組求助：「找人幫幫我，我被一位發神經的朋友拿刀刺，現在還流著血。」在曝光的錄音中，他竟然還得靠自己找醫院就醫。



所屬經紀公司「英皇娛樂」表示，任達華手指及腹部中刀，目前正在醫院接受治療：「情況穩定，請大家放心及謝謝大家關心，有進一步消息會通知大家。」
任達華在醫院的照片曝光，他現在已經可以下床自由走動。
